The difference between PVC-U, PVC-C, and PVC

       1、PVC: polyvinyl chloride (polyvinyl chloride) is a thermoplastic resin. It is one of the four basic building materials ,with steel, wood and cement , and PVC, PP, PE, ABS, and PS are named as the five general resin. PVC is the  organic  product with highest chlorine consumption in  chlor-alkali industry.

we can add other ingredients to enhance its heat resistance, toughness, ductility and so on. The top layer of the surface film is lacquer, the main component in the middle is polyvinyl chloride, and the bottom layer is the back coating adhesive. It is a very popular and widely used synthetic material in the world today. Its global usage ranks second in that of various synthetic materials.

　PVC can be divided into soft PVC and hard PVC, hard PVC accounts for about 2/3 of the market, and soft PVC 1/3. Soft PVC is generally used in the surface of flooring, ceiling and leather, but because the soft PVC contains softening agent (this is the difference between soft and hard PVC), it is easy to brittle, not easy to save, so its scope of use has been limited. While hard PVC does not contain softener, so it has good flexibility, and it is easy to shape, and not easy to crisp, non-toxic, pollution-free, long storage time, so it has great development and application value. The essence of PVC is a kind of vacuum plastic film. It is used in the surface packing of various kinds of panels, so it is also called decorative film or adhesive film. It is used in many fields, such as building materials, packaging, medicine and so on. Among them, the building materials industry accounted for the largest proportion, 60%, followed by the packaging industry,  there are a number of other small-scale applications of the industry.

　　2、PVC-U

　　PVC-U is also called UPVC and rigid polyvinyl chloride. The full English name  is Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride. and Unplasticized means"not plasticized, without plasticizers" .PVC-U takes PVC as the main raw material, adding necessary additives, and then produced by extrusion. That is, the use of vinyl chloride monomer formed by polymerization of amorphous thermoplastic resin plus certain additives (such as stabilizers, lubricants, fillers, etc.). In addition to additive, the method of blending with other resins is used to make it have obvious practical value. These resins have CPVC, PE, ABS, EVA, MBS and so on.

　　The advantages are: high strength, high stiffness and high hardness, good electrical insulation, good chemical stability, self extinguishing, low water absorption, easy adhesion, easy to paint.

  Disadvantages are: poor toughness, easy to be restricted by weather conditions

　With a wide range of applications, it is commonly used in water supply and drainage pipes, pumps, valves, seals, bearing retainer, lamp shell (auto repair), brush industry, bowden cables and dental appliances, chair, drilling mud core sleeve, light box cover etc.

　　3、PVC-C　

 PVC-C is also called CPVC, perchlorovinyl. The English full name  is Chorinated Polyvinyl Chloride. It is a new kind of synthetic polymer material made by the substitution reaction of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and chlorine gas under the action of Initiation, which is a kind of white or yellowish movable solid powder. Its basic properties are similar to that of PVC, but the CPVC prepared by chlorination of PVC resin has remarkable improvement in heat resistance, physical and mechanical properties, chemical stability and flame retardancy. It is a kind of engineering plastics with good quality and low price, so it is widely used. First used in the chemical industry, such as chlor-alkali industry, smelting industry, petroleum industry, paper industry and so on. Second, hot and cold water used CPVC pipe is used to develop geothermal resources, hot water and other hot water. It is also used in heating systems, fire systems and so on.
